E: Travels—floating yesterday / Travels floating yesterday

Gallery 2 begins with photographs of scenes and activities taken by Ninagawa in her extensive travels around the world. Arranged at random, they seem strangely coherent. Around the walls are a careful selection of works from the floating yesterday photo book. Low table lightboxes present an accumulation of images, jumping between places and times as if showing fragments of our world in a manner that incites imagination of a different world.。

Right: From “floating yesterday” 2004

“Non-everyday sensations in the everyday world. A sense of floating five centimetres above the ground. There are doors everywhere opening to the other side.”
