The "Gallery 5" shop opened in September on the promenade linking the Art Gallery and the concert hall acting as a pipe to linking art and music. The Tokyo Opera City Art Gallery has four galleries, so the name "Gallery 5" was chosen for the gallery shop to mark its role as a fifth "gallery." The shop's line-up changes from day to day to keep up with the ever-changing art scene, as well as selling goods related to the exhibitions held at the Art Gallery.

 

Gallery 5 sells Art Gallery exhibition catalogs, Japanese and international art magazines, art books, catalogs from exhibitions overseas, and also postcards and art goods with works of art as their motifs. The music element is represented by the latest music CDs, focusing on contemporary composers like Takemitsu Toru and John Cage. Last but not least, Gallery 5 is the place to buy Tokyo Opera City Art Gallery mugs and tee-shirts, Tokyo Opera City Concert Hall postcards and telephone cards, and other such original products.
