Musée Tomo's collection of works by Toko Shinoda stems from the long friendship between the artist and the museum's founder, Tomo Kikuchi (1923–2016). The museum has held solo exhibitions of Shinoda's work twice in the past. Following her death in March last year at the age of 107, the museum has organized an exhibition in her memory, looking back at her life of creativity.
The exhibition consists of over fifty works by Toko Shinoda, featuring works in sumi ink and prints from the 1950s to her later years, accompanied by kimono and other examples of her creative output.
